Abuse since age 16; youth arrested from Kollam in POCSO case

KOLLAM: Youth arrested from Kollam Chithara in POCSO case. Harish, a native of Perumathura, was arrested. Harish has been arrested in the case of molesting a girl from the age of sixteen. The accused met the girl during a wedding reception in 2023.

The case is that the two became close and the girl was abused several times. The police say that the girl withdrew from the relationship when she realized the accused's drug use and the accused threatened the girl by sending her private pictures. The Chithara police registered a case based on a complaint filed by the girl's family.

Meanwhile, the accused who went on the run after abusing an eight-year-old girl was caught by the police after nine years. Justin, a native of Palluruthy, the accused in the case registered at Aroor police station in 2016 was arrested.

The case registered at Palluruthy Police Station was transferred to Aroor Police Station and an investigation was carried out, but the accused could not be apprehended. The accused, who was hiding in places like Maharashtra, Pune, Karwar and Kozhikode after the incident, was arrested by the police when he came to a hotel in Kumbaza in Pathanamthitta district for work.
